I decided to take up Pilates as a way to manage pain. After having a desk job for 13 years I developed bad posture, which led to RSI (repetitive strain injury).
Finding out how effective Pilates was I felt compelled to learn more about it and share the benefits with others.
I went on to teach Mat Pilates and Full studio equipment including Reformer, Bench, Ladder Barrel, Wunda Chair and all small equipment.
My aim is to help clients reconnect with their bodies and encourage better movement patterns, better posture and healthier body.
After Practising Pilates for more than 18 years and teaching since 2014, I am now Level 4 Mat and Reformer (highest level of Achievement in the fitness Industry). I’m also trained in therapy exercise.
This involves a detailed analysis of the anatomical, biomechanical and physiological outcomes of each exercise and an in-depth analysis of the client’s movement patterns.
Alongside this, I’m also studying Therapy Exercise, which teaches how to rehabilitate common injuries or movement restrictions caused by dysfunctional movement patterns.
All my classes are varied with the use of small equipment, with the ability to adapt, modify and progress each individual. Each class is based on the principles of Pilates, we concentrate on breathing to control centring which creates precision and flow.
