What Is Pilates?

Pilates is a mind and body conditioning exercise aimed at Improving control, coordination and balance of the body. Pilates concentrates on developing the deep postural muscles of the abdominals & spine to create a stable base. Pilates improves body awareness developing better posture alignment by helping to restore mobility and flexibility. Pilates improves muscle activation, strength & control with correct movement patterns.  Improves breath control and lung capacity which helps to relieve stress to create a balanced body.

Pilates is suitable and highly beneficial for men and women of ALL ages and ALL fitness levels. Pilates is also an effective and recommended way to recover from an injury or pre or post -natal woman. Every exercise can be modified to suit individual needs.

Pilates can help with back pain, provided it is taught properly and practised with care.  Just moving your body in the correct way will help release stress and tension on soft tissues and joints and will create more mobility in your spine. Creating strength in your core will help to support your spine.

Mat Classes

All classes are based on the Pilates principles. Suitable for all, with adaptation and modifications for all needs. Classes are fun and creative with the use of small equipment, small balls, weights, and resistance bands to help develop strength, flexibility, coordination and better movement patterns.
